What’s the deal with blogs?

My family says I tend to go on and on. I think they all encouraged me to start this blog in an attempt to shut me up. My grandson Nathaniel suggested I start my own blog. My response to him was…..”What’s the Deal with Blogs?” I have heard of a blog ya know? I don’t know what it is, but I’ve heard of it. I don’t live under a rock like some of the guys at my weekly gin game. What exactly a blog and I had in common….well I was about to find out.

So before I knew it my new grandson-in-law Jacob had designed a blog for me to get all my recipes, opinions, ideas and kvetches a place to live. Gertie, my wife, says it’s going to be a great outlet for me. I think she really just wants more time to watch old episodes of Murder, She Wrote. We’ll see… I hear the internetweb is really exciting!

I have a question and I hope this is the appropriate place to ask it.  Can you successfully grind up regular matzo into matzo meal or cake meal?

Thanks

By Danielle on 2009 03 31

Hi Danielle
Whenever I grind up matzo it does not come to the fine consistency that matzo meal gets to. For instance, I would not substitute ground up matzo for matzo meal when preparing matzo balls.

Hope this helps.
Thanks for coming to my blog.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Since matzo was traditionally made by hand and was round, the idea of changing how the matzo was made and shaped caused some individuals to believe that the square machine made matzo was not in any way traditional and therefore less kosher.
